Keita Suzuki is a professional music producer/drummer from Tokyo, Japan, currently based in Los Angeles, CA.

 

Keita discovered his love for music as early as he started playing piano at the age of 3. His curiosity and love for music kept growing and started playing drums at the age of 10. Since then, he has never stopped and kept developing his craft by navigating through all realms of music, with a particular interest for rock, R&B, hip hop, and jazz music. In 2011, Keita passed one of the biggest auditions in Japan called "Mitsubachi Keiongakubu" held by Sony Music Entertainment and Honey Bee Management. He also won prizes at a couple of drum contests in Japan including Jury Excellence Award at “Kozo Suganuma & Tenchi Garaku Drum Contest (2012)” hosted by the legendary Japanese drummer, Kozo Suganuma.

In 2017, Keita moved to Boston to attend one of the most prestigious music colleges in the world, Berklee College of Music. He studied drumming with Billy Kilson and Ralph Peterson while he majored in Contemporary Writing and Production to learn about horn arrangement/orchestra writing/DAW production.

After graduating Berklee, Keita moved to Los Angeles to expand his possibilities and now work with artists such as MALAYA, Leonardo Varella, Piao, Deb Fan, and many more. Keita also produces music for one of the most renowned cable channels, Discovery Channel and the tracks he made are currently in circulation for hundreds of networks worldwide.

ロサンゼルスを拠点に活躍する音楽プロデューサー、ドラマー。幼少の頃から音楽に触れ、クラシックピアノを3歳、ドラムを10歳の頃より始める。高校生の時には、ソニーミュージックと当時YUIのプロデューサーやバックバンドメンバーを擁していたHoney Bee Managementが合同で主催したオーディション「ソニーミュージックxみつばち軽音楽部」に通過し、第一期生として活動をする。また同時期に、菅沼孝三氏と天地雅楽主催の「菅沼孝三&天地雅楽ドラムコンテスト」で審査員優秀賞を獲得。慶應義塾大学を卒業後、バークリー音楽大学に奨学生として留学し、Billy Kilson氏やRalph Peterson氏に師事。ドラマーとしての経験を積むと同時に、Contemporary Writing & Production専攻で管楽器やオーケストラのための作曲・編曲やDAWを用いた音楽制作について学び、音楽家としての幅を広げていった。バークリー卒業後はロサンゼルスに拠点を移し、ブラックチャーチでの本場のゴスペルに加え、Haley UrboやDeb Fanなどといったアーティストのサポートでドラムを演奏している。また音楽プロデューサーとしては、Snoop DoggやTerrace Martinと曲をリリースしているMALAYAという新進気鋭のアメリカ人アーティストと楽曲制作を行ったり、CordaeやDoja Catとの共演もあるギターリストLeonardo Varellaとともにトラックをリリースしている。さらには世界中に数百のチャンネルを持つ「ディスカバリーチャンネル」へのトラック提供など、今もなお活躍の場を広げている。
